Glass care

Congratulations! You are now an owner of glass jewelry! Caring for it is simple. We compare it to a nice pair of sunglasses lenses. Polish it when you put it on (for maximum light magic) and don’t let the glass come in contact with any rough or hard surfaces like brick, concrete, or metal (this includes heavy metal charms). Set it down gently and take care when storing and transporting it. Don’t put Idol Light in your jeans pocket and bike home. Dont throw Idol Light in the bottom of your purse and hope for the best. When polishing, be mindful of thinner glass and be gentle around connection points. We also recommend taking off your Idol Light before showering or swimming, and before rigorous activities such as sports, exercising, or moving furniture. Try not to drop it, especially on hard surfaces like marble or concrete.

METAL CARE

STEEL - Extremely durable and will never tarnish, no care needed.

GOLD FILLED - Gold filled is created in the manufacturing process of jewelry components. It’s like a sandwich where the bread is 14k gold and the middle is a base metal. Gold filled is 100 times thicker than gold plating and will not tarnish or rub off. You can treat it like real gold because it is.

STERLING SILVER - Sterling silver will tarnish if it’s not worn. Tarnishing is accelerated by humidity so hanging silver jewelry in the bathroom is not the best idea. Try to store it somewhere dry when you aren’t wearing it. Silver tarnish will disappear once the item is worn again.

BRASS - Brass will naturally patina, moisture will accelerate this. Brass will not turn your finger green, however reactions can occur when brass comes in contact with liquids such as hand moisturizer or sanitizer.
